Director of Real Estate Operations

POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Operations manages all activities related to the daily operations and development of the company. This is accomplished through positive leadership, direction, and motivation of all employees. The Director of Operations ensures the operations of the firm are developing and continuously refining an effective and efficient process. This position reports directly to the owner, will supervise a group of ten to fifteen, and is responsible for training, coaching, and inspiring them. The Director of Operations is the "go to" for operations’ strategy and effectiveness.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Lead, implement, manage and evaluate operation processes and procedures in accordance with the standards and procedures set out by the organization
  • Ensure that operational processes stay within agreed upon budgets and timelines
  • Assist in developing strategies and implementation plans to improve and standardize all aspects of operations
  • Supervise, train, coach, and manage performance for our team, including weekly company operations meetings and regularly scheduled individual staff meetings
  • Oversee activity and office operations
  • Assist with contract writing and contract-related questions
  • Support others with developing and enhancing a process for effective efficient and streamlined recruiting processes and procedures
  • Ensures the operations and profitability of the assets are maximized while continuing to improve the company’s reputation in each community it operates
  • Assist in developing strategies and implementation plans to improve and standardize all aspects of property operations and processes
  • Work with acquisitions, finance, regional managers, and analyst teams to insure due diligence on new acquisitions in the region

  • Proficiencies

    • Microsoft Office Suite – Highly Proficient
    • Microsoft Project and Teams or Equivalent – Highly Proficient
    • Quickbooks and/or OneSite and/or ProCore - Desired

Location: Houston, TX

Required Experience: Ten or more years of real estate development, property management or equivalent operations experience and five or more years in a management role with a proven track record of success

Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
